Saltwater Fishing, Thailand

Thailand offers tremendous variety for the saltwater fisherman, with over 2,500 kilometres of coastline on the Indian Ocean, Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. Fishing is good all year round, too, though the seas can occasionally get rough in the rainy season (June - August).

Gulf of Thailand
Most fishing is done off the many Islands in the gulf: Koh Samui and Koh Pha Ngan in the West; Koh Si Chang in the center near Choburi, and Koh Chang in the East close to the Cambodian border.

The Gulf of Thailand is a good place to fish for Barracuda, Grouper, Mackerel, small Shark species, Snapper, Travally and Cobia.
